In the aftermath of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, the nation and the world watched horrified, as the twin towers of the World Trade Center laid as rubble on the ground, taking with them a Manhattan church as well.
The Pentagon was also attacked, and the estimated human loss of 9/11 reached almost 3,000 people.
Twelve years later, it is important to remember those people that perished in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
They were mothers, brothers, fathers, sisters and kids, employees and employers, emergency response personnel, firefighters and police, locals and visitors – some died instantly, others in slow agony, many of them while trying to save the lives of others.
