Ah, it’s Phriday, the least useful day of the week!
Francois, of Domaining.com, ran some A/B testing this week and concluded that people who are presented with content on the right and ads on the left, never click on the ads.
“It was epic failure, like Napoleon at Waterloo, absolument!” said Francois, gesturing for emphasis.
“I watch clicks drop faster than Montmartre prostitute panties, when moved ads left. So now move far right, just like Marine Le Pen, ah ah ah ah ah! Joke ok?” added Francois.
The move was expected, as westerners use their browser scrollbar on the right; when ads are placed on the opposite side, the clicks just don’t happen.
“I learn lot from experiment, like navigation heat maps in SEO and good stuff. But pfffttt, redesign I preferred other way. Absolument.” said Francois.
In other (real) news: DomainGang has a new corporate sponsor, Australian domain auction mega-mall, Flippa.com.
Absolument.
that francois is one wild and crazy guy. i think he was just taunting the americans as the french often do.
More boobs, less articles about the design of the site that brought us here 🙂
New redesign was great as it given a fresh look, to a site who had few changes for years.
But I was really disturbed by this layout when reading the news.
A little like it’s difficult to watch the face above without have the eyes automatically look down.
TGIF
Francois – Now you know what a “search heat map” is all about 😀
