Sadly, the title is the only thing that will make sense in this article.
Why? Because of beer.
Lots of beer.
Beer is domaining enemy #1 and that includes uber-domainer Frank Schilling and his notorious sniping skills at Namejet.
When you, as an expert domainer pop open a bottle of this ancient beverage which was apparently invented by the Egyptians, certain things are bound to happen:
- You get excited over names such as WalkDogsAround.com
- You register several .tel domains although you know .tel sucks
- The wrong credit card is used e.g. the one that has surcharges for using a non US registrar
- You accept lowball offers for your domains
- Even worse: you make high offers for crappy domains and they get accepted
- You make indecent proposals to married female domainers
- You drink more beer to secure your success
The only way to avoid the pitfalls of beer drinking while domaining, is simple: don’t buy any more beer or don’t buy any more domains.
Definitely, don’t buy beer and register domains at the same time.
TGIF!
Amen, I’ll drink to that!
DUI should be an offence. That’s Domaining Under Influence…!
But what about ale and malt liquor for the “sophisticated Domainer?
Fromainer – Love the acronym definition for DUI 😀
Howard – I envision the pinky will be extended while a sophisticated domainer sips from that glass 😀
Does this advice also apply to drinking ouzo or can I keep drinking?
Tric – ouzo is to beer like a nuke is to a water bomb!
Guilty as charged…beer & the PC are made for each other! I’ve come up with, and registered domain names, after a few “cold 1’s” and have been pretty lucky…..so far.
Hey, when I think of Beer, I think of Daryl the drunk Domainer….hope he is doing well…
