Warren Buffett, one of the world’s richest individuals is the chairman, president and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway.
The company oversees and manages a number of subsidiary companies; wholly owns GEICO, BNSF, Lubrizol, Dairy Queen, Fruit of the Loom, Helzberg Diamonds and NetJets, owns half of Heinz and has significant holdings in American Express, Coca-Cola, Wells Fargo, and IBM.
Total assets in 2013: $484,931,000,000 dollars – or almost half a trillion.
One would think that the corporate web site of Berkshire Hathaway is a glitzy mega-portal of all the great companies under its command.
Alas, it could not be any further from the truth.
It’s truly shocking seeing the state of the Berkshire Hathaway web site, at BerkshireHathaway.com.
The footer notice on the site is shocking too – “If you have any comments about our WEB page, you can either write us at the address shown above or e-mail us at berkshire@berkshirehathaway.com. However, due to the limited number of personnel in our corporate office, we are unable to provide a direct response.”
