If you missed the news coverage about NSA whistle blower, Edward Snowden, you must have been holed up in a cabin in the woods for the past week, eating canned food and hunting wild game.
The 26 year old former CIA employee, has shocked the world with his revelation that NSA is virtually able to process mass amounts of communication data, on the Internet and over telephony networks.
We already mentioned how EdwardSnowden.com was just registered by an entrepreneur loosely related to data security; the domain was promptly turned into a web site hosting twitter feeds featuring hashtags related to Edward Snowden.
It seems that Edward Snowden had picked the code name Verax as his handle, during his conversations with the Washington Post. Verax is the ‘truth teller’, for those of you that opted out of Latin classes in college.
Verax.com sounds like a cool name and it’s surprisingly old, as it was registered in 1995 according to DomainTools. Apparently, the name is now gaining notoriety because of Edward Snowden using it.
There are several other companies and domains using the ‘verax’ keyword, and you can research those at ZFBot.com, all while we’ll continue to battle unicorns and dragons of the digital kind. 😉
