Cryptocurrencies, such as Bitcoin, Ethereum and Litecoin have been on a wild rise in 2017.
In recent days, Bitcoin hit $11,444 dollars and Ethereum raced past $500 dollars.
Earlier this week, a major market correction brought the two largest cryptocurrencies substsantially down; BTC traded in the $8,500 dollar range and ETH went as low as $400.
They have both recovered and the market seems to have stabilized a bit.
Ethereum market capitalization now stands at $44.5 billion USD, and some predict that ETH could hit $1,000 dollars in 2018.
The domain Ethereum.com is currently for sale via a private brokerage firm. Not too long ago, Ethereum.com began displaying that an offer of $7.2 million had been made.
The current asking price still remains at $10,000,000 USD, a price that Ethereum co-founder, Vitalik Buterin, would probably not pay.
If, however, Ethereum were to hit $1,000 dollars, the effective asking price for the domain would be discounted by 50%.
Should the owner of Ethereum.com raise the price, at that point, to $20 million dollars? 😀
Ethereum.com was first registered several years ago; read our exclusive interview with its original registrant.
I think that $10mm is the right number, regardless of whether ETH hits even higher amounts (which it will).
Gene – Great. Can you tell us who will pony up $10 big ones?
