Dan.com is no longer allowing its users to add or remove domains to their portfolios.
As of October 15th, the once-popular domain platform has ended its functions as a marketplace. Those who chose to migrate their domains to Afternic are able to continue selling domains with a familiar custom lander derived from the Dan.com platform.
But not all functions are terminated on Dan.com. While owners of user accounts that migrated can’t add, edit, or delete their domains, Dan.com can!
For example, when a domain is no longer registered but still listed in one’s account, Dan.com will eventually delete it and send an email about it:
We have just deleted the following domain(s) that had expired automatically from your account.
We fully understand this could be overlooked! However, we do want to ask you to please make sure you keep your portfolio up-to-date. Your Dan.com account might be suspended if you list domains you do not own and/or do not keep your portfolio updated.
It’s definitely funny that Dan.com, at this point, asks from its migrated user base to edit their portfolio, when it’s not possible. Threatening one with suspension is equally impossible; these accounts are obsolete.
