DAN has been dead for almost a year, as the once thriving domain marketplace completed its life-cycle last September.

The domain game did not end there for users who had transitioned to Afternic; their portfolios remained intact with no possibility to delete. In November, we noted that the automated Dan.com system would notify account holders when domains listed in their accounts were deleted—that is, no longer registered.
That ironic function of a dead marketplace actively tracking domain portfolios ended last week, when DAN.com stopped being accessible. The domain now forwards to an Afternic lander.
Meanwhile, almost half a million domain names still resolve on DAN.com nameservers. According to DomainTools, there are 447,811 domains pointed to a nameserver on Dan.com.
Some domain investors can be rather lazy!
If these domains were transitioned to Afternic, they resolve to landing pages there. Otherwise, there might be some issues so make sure you check your domains for obsolete NS1.DAN.COM/NS2.DAN.COM nameservers.
