Domain King’s Nigerian challenger causing Grok problems

The Domain King, Rick Schwartz.

Domain King is the moniker and registered trademark of domain investor and entrepreneur, Rick Schwartz.

Rick’s fundamental role as a founder of the business-centric Targeted TRAFFIC conference established him as a voice representing the domain industry.

A few years ago, a Nigerian web hosting company with ties to India assumed the same brand name, operating from the domain DomainKing.ng.

There are numerous occasions where this assumed brand in Nigeria produced negative sentiment that could be confused with Rick Schwartz’s brand.

A UDRP that Rick Schwartz filed against Domain King Nigeria to get the domain DomainKing.biz failed. But that is not the important issue, in our opinion.

AI tools that feed search engines such as Google and Twitter/X’s Grok are failing to distinguish between Rick Schwartz, the de facto Domain King and the Nigerian company.

For example, searching for DomainKing in Google produces results topped by the Nigerian company, including links to social media accounts as seen below:

A new instance of misinformation appears on Twitter/X that is powered by the AI tool Grok. Hovering over any account username offers the ability to get more information for that account, using Grok.

Here’s what Grok thinks about Rick Schwartz’s @DomainKing account:

@DomainKing is a Nigerian domain registrar accredited by the .NG Registry, offering domain name and hosting services.

They have a strong reputation for top-notch customer service, with a rating of “Excellent” on Trustpilot, and are known for their quick resolution of technical issues.

Naturally, this is grossly incorrect.

It showcases how AI tools that cannot distinguish facts are essentially dangerous when used arbitrarily. Hopefully Rick Schwartz will file a report to have this terrible inaccuracy corrected once and for all.

Grok story kudos: @Synozeer.
