Peter Floyd, a domain investor from Boulder, Colorado decided to take advantage of the latest Facebook gimmick: being able to message its CEO.
For $100 bucks anyone can message Mark Zuckeberg, the busy founder of Facebook – the top destination on the Internet.
“I paid the $100 and thirty minutes later I was able to send a single message to Mark Zuckerberg, asking him if he’d be interested to buy a domain on behalf of his company,” said Peter Floyd.
“Mark’s first response was, hmmm, interesting, how much?” added Floyd.
At that point, having established a successful contact, Floyd decided to play it safe and asked for Mark Zuckerberg’s phone number. The CEO messaged back and they briefly talked on the phone, closing the deal.
“Mark’s a great guy, he understands the domain business completely, he and I could be bros back in college times, I totally love Facebook and now that I’ve sold the domain for $5,000 after spending $100, I’m totally recommending this to other domain investors!” exclaimed Floyd.
This spectacular sale for a domain that Floyd wishes to keep private, shows that traditional methods of domain selling are obsolete. Thinking outside the box is the new path to domainer success.
Congratulations to Peter for establishing a connection with Mark Zuckerberg; their Facebook friendship will hopefully lead to something grander and long-lasting. 😀
So what was the domain ? Fecebook ? 😀
Kate 😀 😀 😀 Probably not, why would Zuck want that?
Incidentally, this is really funny. http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=zuck
