I’ve been using DomainTools since the early 2000’s, when its current reincarnation and features were little more than a glimpse in the imagination of its creators.
Then I heard that DomainTools.com launched a mobile version, and decided to test it on my Nokia.
I tried, but nothing came up. Feeling confused, I tried other web sites, and not a pixel came up on screen.
At that point, I just had to call the Verizon support. They put me on hold for 24 and a half minutes of elevator music hell.
Then, “Bob” came on the phone. Bob had a Punjabi accent and he reassured me my problem would be fixed.
“Most important customer, I greet you. Your connection is most definitely problematic. I am definitely capable of visualizing the uniform resource locator of that corporate online presence”, said Bob.
“I conducted extensive testing including all 45 pages of my Verizon-authorized manual and I assure you that something is wrong with your Nokia cellular telephone device”, said a happy-go-lucky Bob.
I wasn’t pleased. I just had to test DomainTools Mobile like everyone else, to write a review and post it on my blog, Domain News and Opinionated Views by a Grumpy Domainer.
I thanked Bob for his testing of my “cellular telephone device” and hang up, perplexed. Went to the kitchen to get some coffee, where it finally, dawned upon me that my Nokia phone wasn’t subscribed to the Verizon data plan; therefore, I had no Internet access on my phone.
See, I don’t have a smart phone and I don’t use my phone to access the Internet. But due to my excitement about DomainTools Mobile I forgot all about that.
So there you go, whip out your cellphone and try out DomainTools Mobile now. Just make sure you have a data plan with your phone, first!
