The folks over at the .XYZ Registry are known for their focus on the ‘XYZ generation’, and apparent obsession with purple.
So when it comes down to creating an infographic spanning the last 30+ years of the Internet, be prepared for lots of purple color.
Paying tribute to the 30 year anniversary of the first dot .COM domain is naturally included, but from then on the infographic predicts the future, such as events that might happen until 2028:
- Year 2020 : Cisco predicts 50 billion things will be connected to the Internet. Startups, individuals, even cars and cattle will be interconnected through the Generation XYZ community.
- Year 2024 : Advances in 3D printing make it nearly free to print many household items. Goodbye shipping & handling fees.
- Year 2028 : In the next 14 years, another 5 billion more people will be connected to the Internet.
The infographic closes with the “Next Step” statement:
