Dylan Ratigan, former TV anchor turned investor, acquired Reservations.com in March.
In a recent interview, Ratigan cited the domain’s brand power, strategic partnerships, and potential for broader use beyond travel. His confidence in the acquisition is rooted in support from HotelPlanner, which now provides the platform’s travel tech and AI-driven customer service tools.
“The reason I was like ‘I’ll do this deal’ was because I knew I could get an agreement for the travel tech support from HotelPlanner,” explained Ratigan.
While improving customer experience is his initial priority, Ratigan sees the domain name itself as the crown jewel of the deal.
“I believe that the domain name itself is incredibly valuable and ripe for massive expansion,” he said. In his view, the domain name Reservations.com ranks among the strongest domain names in the industry; “perhaps second only to Booking.com.”
