Maria Penelope Dominguez smiles broadly to the cameras, as she displays the rebate she just received from Snapnames.
The young Puerto Rican mother of five from Brooklyn is excited that she now has a whopping $2,875 to spend for Christmas – all thanks to the shill bidding scandal caused by Nelson “Halvarez” Brady.
“So I look at my mail every day, yo kno, and there it is, the rebate, and I was like aaaaaaaaah! My God, it is here! It is here! And I told Fernand my husband, yo kno, we are going to buy that new 46″ TV for Chrissmas now, and maybe visit Luigi’s gelateria at the Mall for ice cream for all the kids, yo kno. And I’m getting a fourth tattoo now, an angel on my arm. It’s like Chrissmas already, aye, like Crissmas!”
Maria is one of many domainers that were fooled into believing the Snapnames domain auction system offered equal opportunities to all bidders. In fact, it was rigged so that a persona – Hank Alvarez – could artificially pump the price of domain auctions to suit his money-motivated agenda.
“If I cotch that muthaf*cka, I’ll bust his face, yo kno? No puto messes with a Rican, yo kno. Ay papi, common Rosa, Diamantina, less go to the store!”, Maria Penelope adds as she calls out to her friends.
It’s not clear yet how many more middle-class domainers were affected by this monstrous scandal, however it seems that Hank Alvarez will be playing Santa Claus this year.
