#FirstPlace has sold Vehicle.com to Brent Oxley

Brent Oxley strikes again; the multimillionaire entrepreneur has acquired the top notch domain name, Vehicle.com.

The seller appears to be First Place Internet, Inc., a domain assets holding company. A previous version of this post erroneously stated that the seller is Digimedia – we regret the error.

There is no official quote about the amount involved in this acquisition, but some speculate it sold for $159,000 dollars, or less. Oxley parked Vehicle.com with a contact form and no minimum amount listed. Vehicle.com is a 1995 domain registration, making it 25 years old.

Sedo sold ElectricCar.com recently, but a “vehicle” domain encompasses much more:

“A vehicle is a machine that transports people or cargo. Vehicles include wagons, bicycles, motor vehicles, railed vehicles, watercraft, amphibious vehicles, aircraft and spacecraft.”

Kudos: Elliot Silver.

Vehicle.com was not a Digimedia domain. Verified this with Digimedia.

James – Interesting. They let third parties use their nameservers ns1.digimedia.com and ns2.digimedia.com?

  3. James Iles says:

@DomainGang yes… First Place & Reflex Publishing do. Take Dictionaries.com & High.com as two respective examples.

James – I was aware of Reflex’s relationship with Digimedia, the one about FirstPlace is news to me. Thanks.
