Friend.com acquisition cost: $1,887,843 using Escrow.com

Entrepreneur Avi Schiffmann announced the formation of Friend, an AI company today, sharing the cost of acquiring the matching .com domain, Friend.com.

That amounted to $1,887,843 dollars for a transaction that was created on February 6, 2024. The transaction is clearly marked by the Escrow.com Domain Holding Service, DNH.

Initially, it was not not clear if the domain’s acquisition schedule is ongoing or if it has completed. What’s certain is that the domain was transferred on February 22, 2024 away from Tucows to GoDaddy.

On May 2nd, Avi Schiffmann shared news of his acquisition of Friend.com but removed that Tweet later on.

So was Friend.com fully acquired or it’s on a payment plan still?

Although Friend.com is using full records and not just DNS which might indicate that the domain resides in a GoDaddy account with full management rights, Avi Schiffmann confirmed that the domain Friend.com is on a payment plan.
