Since 4:49am Eastern time today, a global outage has affected terminals and other smart devices with a screen around the globe, crashing systems and disrupting the normal flow of travelers.
The incident is under investigation by Microsoft and a cursory analysis indicates that it’s due to more than 300,000 people joining the Atom Cloud Broker program.
Created with the average Joe Broker in mind, Atom’s brilliant idea to utilize an army of brokers eager to sell your domains listed at Atom.com appears to have been an early victim of its own success.
“We have data showing that as many as 298,788 separate accounts were created on our Cloud Broker platform during the first 18 hours since the launch,” said Bob Chadowski chief Domain Particle Engineer at Atom.
“If this continues at this rate, we’ll be having most of the world’s sane, adult population as an Atom Cloud Broker by next Wednesday. This is terrifying but also rewarding!” exclaimed Atom’s Bob Chadowski, smiling.
If you haven’t yet signed up as an Atom Cloud Broker visit AtomCloudBroker.com/signmeup that may or may not be down due to the terminal outage.
