Recently, GoDaddy rolled out Afternic Boost that adds 5% more in fees, raising its fees to 20% of a sale’s earnings for those that remain opted-in. In terms of percentage increase, that’s a whopping 33.33%.
Meanwhile, the number of free domain appraisals via the GoDaddy’s Appraisal tool was reduced from 10 per day to just 3 per day – a 70% decrease.
It’s not that the GoDaddy Appraisal tool is accurate either, per our “Childless Cat Lady” example. ๐
But this type of GoDaddy mathematics shows how unwilling the biggest domain registrar in the world is to provide something of value to its customers, whether old or new.
