We often report WHOIS and zone file domain spammers, that usurp contact data from daily domain registrations.
Due to the nature of our reporting, there’s often no time to open tickets with particular registrars. If they are active on Twitter, we send out a quick but accurate description of the problem.
In recent weeks, we’ve identified serial domain spammers in two separate incidents, and sent out the information on Twitter, tagging the @enom account.
Both times, eNom responded – in private and publicly – that they are unable to release the WHOIS information of these serial phucksticks.
Here’s what the latest response was:
“We do not shown information for domain registered with us as we are GDPR compliant and mask this information from being made public”
Is eNom sympathetic towards domain spammers, or is their support department unable to comprehend the type of action needed?
WE DIDN’T ASK FOR THE DOMAIN SPAMMERS’ INFORMATION – WE PROVIDED THE DOMAINS THEY OPERATED FROM, AND A DESCRIPTION OF THE ACTIVITY.
What we expect from eNom is to shut down their operations, just like any registrar would do, when provided with evidence of malicious activity.
