Marijuana domain names are hot, and marijuana stocks are even hotter. Bakt.com might look, and sound, like a ganja name, especially after the recent sale at Sedo for $10,000 dollars, but it isn’t.
The buyers were actually cryptocurrency investors that are ready to launch the domain name Bakkt.com.
They were smart enough to know they would lose tons of traffic to the shorter typo, and scooped it up a few weeks ago.
Bakkt, which is ready to launch next month, is a Crypto-Exchange looking “to develop an open, regulated, and global ecosystem for digital assets.”
Of course you have heard that business plan before, but note that Microsoft, Starbucks, and ICE, the owners of the NYSE are all involved.
Keep an eye out for Bakkt.com in November, and if you accidentally go to Bakt.com, don’t worry, it’s already re-directed to Bakkt.com.
