GoDaddy customers attending NamesCon 2015, the biggest ever domain conference taking place in Las Vegas, were in complete shock yesterday at the company’s exhibit presence.
The complete eradication of any traces of “domain sexism” was met with applause by female domainers, who welcomed the removal of any gender-specific promotional material from the GoDaddy marketing campaigns, during their 2nd annual Women In Domaining gathering.
“As much as some still long for the days of Candice and the GoDaddy girls, the days of buxom marketing are gone,” said GoDaddy booth manager, Alan Comet.
“In the 21st century, any company using curvacious women to appeal to sex-starved geeks eager to project their cravings through a digital manifestation of their libido, would lose 55% of their customers: women,” added Comet.
Some veteran domainers were visibly dejected by the complete loss of any sexist references in the GoDaddy marketing campaign; the company stays strong behind its decision to eliminate all such material and projects record growth in 2015.
