A domain renewal email sent out by Network Solutions, might be the result of a marketing campaign gone awry.
Perceived as a scare tactic, the email notifies its recipient that domains in their account require immediate renewal, as seen below:
The email carries the renewal message across with several urgent statements:
- “Make sure you don’t lose your domain”
- “Don’t let your domain expire”
- “Your domain is expiring soon”
While some NetSol accounts might have domains that expire at some point, that was completely inaccurate in our case—with a total of zero domains at Network Solutions, that email is a time-waster:
Why did we check that email?
Because domains that expire, drop, and are auctioned off via SnapNames and NameJet are placed in a Network Solutions account.
As domain investors, we often forget to transfer these domains out. After paying more than reg fee for such domain catches, it’d be bad to not renew them.
After talking to support that claimed their systems were down and unable to confirm the case, we’re sharing this info here to save you the time.
