The era of the new Internet name space provides lots of opportunities for meaningful keyword+gTLD combinations; with more than 250 gTLDs approved so far by ICANN, the possibilities are endless.
One needs to remember, however, that the same keyword+gTLD combinations can be used to create blatant violations of brands and trademarks.
This is the case with the domain name Guess.Clothing, that was decided at the National Arbitration Forum.
The Complainant, is the IP holding company for Guess? – a world famous clothing manufacturer.
In a rather interesting twist, the Respondent, Christopher Murphy of TIAGRA Investments, is known for PeopleBrowser Inc., the company that manages the dot .CEO gTLD.
The sole panelist, Carolyn Marks Johnson, had an easy task when she delivered the decision, ordering the transfer of Guess.Clothing to the complainant.
