The person in charge of managing web sites for the city of Providence, Rhode Island, has been registering domain names of a former mayor, Vincent “Buddy” Cianci Jr.
Apparently, the former mayor, who temporarily switched to being a talk show host, is once again considering running for the city’s mayor.
Meanwhile, the domain names Cianci.com, MayorCianci.com and CianciForMayor.com are in the hands of the obvious cybersquatter, who says that domain names are “like baseball cards“; he owns between 400 and 500 of them.
Buddy Cianci already operates his own official web site, BuddyCianci.com, and declined any interest in the other domain names. Buddy Cianci also sells his own marinara sauce and is a published author; his book “Politics and Pasta” is a hit! 😀
The former mayor spent four years in federal prison, which spawned a great book for his memoirs.
