Rick Schwartz made a discouraging statement today, about NamesCon: He’s not going.
A couple of days after purging the majority of his Twitter followship ensuring that only real, vetted followers are in, the Domain King announced that—as of now—he’s not attending NamesCon 2023:
“I was going to go to @NamesCon in 2023. I’m sorry, but I just can’t do it. It’s just going to be littered with the same type of folks. I don’t want any part of them.”
NamesCon is regrouping between May 31 – June 3, 2023 in Austin, Texas, after two years of virtual conferences thanks to the Covid-19 pandemic. The biggest domain conference attracts domain investors and marketing gurus, along with numerous other professionals from around the globe.
It’s definitely disappointing to hear that Rick Schwartz won’t be attending, he’d be a valuable participant and speaker, as a great representative of the entire domain industry.
NamesCon 2023 is taking place at the beginning of summer, which may be a tough call for many. Before switching to Austin, the Vegas event took place in January/February, at a time that many domain investors would attend.
“same type of folks” means what exactly?
