Sedo, the largest domain market on the Internet by volume and sales, is launching a new payment service, catering to established domainers.
SedoPay(tm) will make payments for domain purchases instant, thus eliminating the waiting that many domain sellers faced.
“We got tired of hearing ‘where is my money, Sedo’ all the time,” said Nicoletta Brangiorno of Sedo.
“Our staff spent a lot of time answering angry emails related to the disbursement of funds to the sellers, so SedoPay(tm) addresses that,” added Nicoletta.
SedoPay(tm) works as follows: Once a transaction completes and the buyer agrees to buy a domain, the funds will be disbursed to the seller’s account immediately.
The new SedoPay(tm) feature will be available only to established Sedo members, that have verified their phone number, address, social security and next of kin and have provided extensive biometric data, including DNA samples.
“It’s a simple method really, with the amount of personal information that Sedo gathers through this verification, nobody in their right mind would attempt to defraud Sedo. It’s a matter of mutual trust,” said Nicolette Brangiorno with a smile.
