Buying a domain name from a marketplace should be an easy, fast process. The fewer the steps, the better!
It seems that this isn’t the case for domains listed on Afternic; at least, those with a Dan-style lander.
A domain investor has shared video captures of his attempt to buy his own domain, Reef.co, on Afternic, for demonstration purposes of course.
After clicking on the “Next” button with “Buy Now” selected, the web page waits for several seconds until the next step appears: Literally half a minute!
This type of delay can trigger a potential buyer’s negative reaction, from reloading the page adding more seconds of delay, to exiting the transaction as they were given plenty of time to change their mind.

We ran a test and it took 19 seconds on a US-based, 1Gps fiber connection for the next step to appear. Completely unacceptable.
