OpenAI, Softbank, and Oracle are planning a joint venture called Stargate, according to CBS.
President Trump is expected to unveil plans for substantial private sector investment aimed at developing artificial intelligence infrastructure in the United States. The investment is said to exceed $500 billion dollars.
SoftBank CEO Masayoshi Son is set to visit the White House on Tuesday afternoon, joined by OpenAI’s Sam Altman and Oracle’s Larry Ellison. In late March 2024, the Stargate AI project was spearheaded by Microsoft and OpenAI.
This puts the keyword “Stargate” under direct interest, as far as the brand’s domain name is concerned. Top of the list is Stargate.com, a domain registered in 1986 that hosted a domain registrar two decades ago. The company was sold to UK2 in 2007.
In recent days, Stargate.com shows an updated date of January 15, 2025, which might be related to the Stargate news. Meanwhile, the domain Stargate.ai is up for sale on Afternic with a minimum asking price of $43,911 dollars.
With artificial intelligence at the top of the most searched keyword list in 2024, it looks like an exciting year ahead for AI domains.
