Popular domain blogger “The Frager Factor” announced the acquisition of a domain with “a keyword with 1.5 million page views“.
The domain in question – GodHatesProtesters.com – returns about 23k results in Google when searched with quotes.
It’s also the name of a WordPress blog that researches and publishes photos of protester signs, at GodHatesProtesters.Wordpress.com
In his latest blog post, the God Hates Protesters blogger writes:
This morning I woke up to learn that Owen Frager, “the Chief Innovation Officer of the Frager Creative Group,” registered the domain godhatesprotesters.com.
At that URL — which conveniently redirects to his blog — he writes:
Please note this is an ARTICLE named God Hates Protesters (.com) about a blog called GodHatesProtester.wordpress.com that sends you directly to THAT blog to read the content they admittedly STEAL from other blogs. I registered the domain names (singular and plural) because apparently the blogger didn’t want them, and as a domain investor that seems a shame to me for a keyword that has 1.5 million page views. In essence through this article the domain has been secured and is forwarded to them.
He then grabbed my entire front page and slapped it on his post.
I started this blog two years ago as a hobby. A lot of time was spent searching the web for the best protest signs, linking to the original content providers when possible.
Should I have registered the domain back then? Probably. But, honestly, I just didn’t care that much about it.
So after two years of searching and posting and tweaking, Mr. Frager’s oh-so-kind gesture has made me realize that I’m tired of the whole blogging thing. It was fun, to a point, but it sucks up time and I have a lot of other things going on.
Thank you, loyal readers, for your visits, comments, submissions, and “likes.”
Enjoy your domain, Mr. Frager. I hope you get your money’s worth.
What then follows is an exchange of comments between the blogger, readers of the blog and Owen Frager of The Frager Factor.
We aren’t sure why Owen registered the domain in the first place, as it appears to be of low financial value. However, Owen then proceeds to comment that he’s willing to donate the domain as a gift to the WordPress owner.
Way to go, Owen for doing the right thing 😀

NEVER… and i mean NEVER… say anything bad about the frager factor. can you imagine if he got upset and decided to cancel his stamp icon and put his ugly mug back on his thousand useless posts a day.
just my opinion… other opinions may differ.
todaro – You’re being unfair to Owen, IMO – After all, he wants to donate the domain to the WordPress owner of GodHatesProtesters. They also have a Facebook page.
While we all struggle to figure out development, this simple word press featured pirated photography from other blogs is what had garner 1.5 million page views in 2 years! With all that traffic and brand equity the owner never thought about getting the domain. Now I am evil because I did as if the world should just hold it until he figures it out. There’s a lesson in this because it’s the way corporations think and it’s also an opportunity for domainers to sell names to millions of bloggers who have grown and made the same oversight. So Todaro, a teaching moment for SMART folks who get it and for the pea brain pigeon shit holding morons like you, you might wonder what”useful” information you are getting elsewhere that has brought you to where you are.
to be clear godhatesprotesters.wordpress.com is what has had 1.5 million pageviews- probably hard to measure because it’s on wordpress servers and lumped in with other stuff but i read about it on one of the tech blogs and that’s the future they quoted (I believe it was an article about some of the most successful wordpress sites out there that would have been included in one of my aggregated news posts)
figure they quoted- sorry for the typos
Owen – thanks for the clarification. I’m sure the blogger will appreciate your good gesture of giving him the domain.
