Ukraine.com is a terrific country .com domain and it belongs to a portfolio holder of solid geo-domains.
In mid-February, days prior to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, we pointed out that Ukraine.com is part of the New Media Holdings portfolio.
The domain’s keyword reflects the #1 news-maker globally; UKRAINE.COM has been a registered trademark since 2002.
That being said, it’s baffling to see that there have been zero references to the invasion of Ukraine by Russia on the Ukraine.com blog. In fact, the only reference is an article from the Echo of Moscow about Russia allegedly reducing its military build-up of troops at the border with Ukraine.
In our opinion, with a great domain such as Ukraine.com comes great responsibility.
Ukraine.com could be doing much better than this, providing content about the devastating genocide taking place in Ukraine. At the very minimum, an up-to-date status of the war in Ukraine should be presented.
Meanwhile, the Twitter account @Ukraine is the official account of the country with 1.8 million followers.
Highly disappointed,it should point to a donation site…Support Ukraine
The troop buildup would have been like owning a sportscar only to see rust forming. The ghastly horrible ongoing invasion like having your unhatched yet counted (despite advice) eggs Yugoslavia’d.
If the worlds still here when the West* prevails these bumps may be gains (hopefully) for average Ukrainians and even for this domain, which should be being made useful in support of Ukrainian people.
* by ‘the West’ i mean Batman obviously.
