In the early days, Rick Schwartz‘s moniker was the Webfather. An obvious play on the Godfather character, due to his attitude and strength of character, Rick adopted the Webfather nickname all while he was already the Domain King.

As a side note, the domain Webfather.com is owned by the Domain King, pointing to his blog. That domain was registered in 2002, a full five years after DomainKing.com.
