When is a “market saw” really useful with domain names?

A market saw, also called a sawtooth market or sawtooth pattern, refers to a chart pattern or market condition where prices repeatedly rise and fall in a zigzag motion, just like the teeth of a saw.

When applied to stock market conditions, a market saw indicates instability and volatility.

But when applied to domain names, it’s something very different.

Domain brokers, SAW.com, operate the online domain marketplace from the fully qualified domain name (FQDN) market.saw.com.

Someone snapped the domain MarketSaw.com about a year ago and was offering it for a couple hundred dollars. We notified Jeff Gabriel and the company now owns that domain.

Using subdomains can create interesting URLs but it’s also a great idea to avoid any traffic leaks (or security issues, even) by owning the combined subdomain+domain keyword in the same TLD.
