Zundi Islands launches ccTLD

The Zundi Islands is a constellation of 17 small and medium sized rocky formations in the Kuwu archipelago of Indonesia.

The local government consists of a magistrate and four vice magistrates, a hereditary ruling of this 15 square mile land for the past four centuries.

ICANN recently approved of the ccTLD for the Zundi Islands and it’s .zi

The  Zundi Islands are looking to attract foreign investors and have announced that upon landrush there will be no restrictions to the number of letters; even one and two letter domains will be available.

The Israeli weapons manufacturer, UZI, has reserved u.zi as a direct URL shortener to their website, products and news over twitter. However, the marketing potential leaves everyone wonder:

Will na.zi be available to register?

In a recent statement, the magistrate, Takanavo Kutuki, played down these fears.

“We business. We evolve. World War 2 long ago. Now peace. Nazi bad. Internet good, domains yes. Na.zi just URL, who pays more buys it”, he said in broken English.

Sadly, there is no legislation in Indonesia or the Zundi Islands protecting people from the evil remnants of World War 2. It’s to be expected that na.zi will be registered within the first few minutes of the Zundi Islands domain rush.

Should na.zi be reserved by the Zundi Islands registry?
