The Cold War is officially over, now that the US and Cuba have mutually re-instated their respective embassies.
Fidel Castro is retired, and the road ahead is promising an influx of American tourists and businesses heading towards Havana – and we don’t mean the Miami district.
Domain investors capitalizing on the opportunity have been acquiring premium Cuban keyword domains for years; domain investor Rob Sequin has more than 2,500 of them.
Meanwhile, George Verdugo of Casas Baratas, VisitSpace, EastLA and Alligators fame announced the acquisition of VivaCuba.com.
The domain is an iconic representation of an era laden with Cuban ethnic pride, and the popular motto “Viva Cuba” is painted in numerous murals in Havana and across Cuban cities, quite often alongside “Viva Fidel.”
Verdugo will be pairing the domain with MeEncantaCuba.com – “I Love Cuba”.
Congratulations to George and to all Cubans and Cuban-Americans! Viva Cuba!
