Building up a downline in itself is a Herculean task while promoting an affiliate program. At the same time you should make sure that you communicate with the members of your downline in an effective manner. It is said that effective communication with the downline is essential in order to bring about a kind of good relation with the affiliates in the long run.
As a growing affiliate marketer your goal is to retain most of the affiliates that joined under you in the program. You should also see to it that they do not become drop outs in the course of time. To retain them and to make your business a fruitful one it is absolutely necessary that you keep in touch with them by using some strong methods. One of the effective methods to keep in touch with the affiliates in your downline is to email them regularly. It is true that most affiliate programs provide you with the email addresses of the members sponsored by you in your downline.
All you have to do is email them once in a month or so, enlightening them about the program and the nuances of selling products and services so that their interest in the program is sustained. Sustenance of interest in the respective affiliate program should be given the priority. Otherwise many affiliates sponsored by you can become drop outs. Hence it is your responsibility as their sponsor to keep their interest in the program alive.
Although it is not very easy to keep their interest in the program alive yet you can take efforts to do so. Try to convert them into action takers by giving tips about marketing and the like. Teach them the basics of marketing. Try to identify how many of your sponsored affiliates are new to marketing. Newbies to marketing are the real persons that contribute a lot to your business as a whole. Hence spend time in educating them about the success stories related to affiliate marketing.
