Just two weeks ago we wrote about the sale of the three letter .com domain TCP.com – a top tier LLL .com that was sold for a ridiculously low sum.
TCP.com is not only aged and meaningful but it could not have gone to a nicer home!
Network security expert and published author, Gordon “Fyodor” Lyon acquired TCP.com via the Sedo auction system.
Gordon – who really prefers going by the handle “Fyodor” due to his deep appreciation of Russian writer Fyodor Dostoyevsky – operates his company Insecure LLC from Insecure.com and is the creator of Nmap – a free network security scanner.
Gordon considers himself a “white hat hacker” – a term reserved for the security expert professionals that utilize their skill-set to reveal and address vulnerabilities in computer networks per the request of a contractor or employer.
We asked Gordon Lyon about his acquisition of the domain name TCP.com and he responded:
“I already had tcp.us and tcp.org. So when I saw tcp.com come up for auction, I bought it too.”
That’s a good enough reason to invest in a three letter .com that matches other TLDs in one’s ownership, especially since dot .com is king.
Thus, Gordon’s plans about TCP.com have not solidified yet, but judging by his extensive experience in providing expert advice to companies and the general public about network security, the domain name TCP.com has found a great home in Gordon Lyon’s possession.
