As of Monday morning 9:00am Paris time, Francois Carrillo – French domainer entrepreneur – is a multi-millionaire, even after hefty French taxes are imposed.
In a shocking acquisition that will be talked about for months to come, Francois has sold Domaining.com to the less popular domain news aggregator, NameBee.
“So happy, cannot hide! Finally, time to enjoy life with family and romance with wife”, said Francois in an early morning conversation, while sipping French vanilla coffee. “A little bit over $7 million dollar, yes, and sale happen on CAX.com where else, where else?”, he added.
This is the biggest sale of an electronic domain publication since Ron Jackson’s sale of DNJournal.com. NameBee plans to keep both entities separate but intends to monetize them differently. Francois Carrillo’s domain marketplace, CAX.com facilitated the sale.
“Andrew buys Domaining.com and I am President of European operations, very great”, added Francois while munching on his second croissant. “With money in bank I invest two letter .com and .fr keyword, see sales on CAX.com daily!”
The sale will complete later this week, as soon as the current dust from the Rick Schwartz – Chef Patrick fist fight settles.
The NameBee / Domaining merger creates the biggest single source of blog links and huge square ad banners in domaining and the Internet.
You made a typo right?
Wasn’t the final sales price $7.25?
Andy – Francois spent euro 7.25 PER MINUTE for our phone conversation, so no typo 🙂
Biggest single source of blog links and huge square ad banners, LOL
While this may all be true, I find your reporting a bit biased… “huge square banners”!? What about the current big ROUND basketball shaped ad? Sorry, I would have to disagree with you, some of the ads are BIG and ROUND!!
Dean – You are correct, the inner shape is round but still, the container is square 300 pixels wide by 250 pixels tall. It’s a small price to pay for such great Call to Action images 😀
Francios is #1 good friend of USA now—thanks for super heading of the no fly zone
Ehmmm…err….huh…how much does domaining.com raises in profit on a yearly basis?
OuMun – A large amount of euro, no doubt.
Wow, I’ve been one of those silent fan of domaining.com. Congrats Francois 🙂
Never knew the sale occured. Awesome to see a good guy make a great sale. Makes sense now that Cax is the go-to site.
