Rod Beckstrom poetry: Sing, O goddess, the anger of Achilles!

It’s no secret that former ICANN CEO, Rod Beckstrom is a lover of Greece.

Having spent some quality time with family after the end of his tenure in July, Rod Beckstrom visited Athens and naturally, the Greek island of Santorini.

While most domainers remember Rod for his expressive gestures, there is another side that we have discovered, and admire: Rod writes poetry.

This is what Rod Beckstrom wrote upon facing the stark contrast of the white houses of Oia in Santorini, set against the deep Aegean blue:

Santorini.

Enchantress.

White cubic houses.

Sea of blue domes.

Rugged.

Burning sun on lava.

Wild like a volcano.

Tempestuous.

Pumice winds.

Take me into the folds of your cool dark caves.

This is one remarkable poem displaying the sensitive side of Rod Beckstrom and it’s definitely worthy of publication. We can’t wait to see if he has written more during his ICANN adventures to distant lands!

A great poem by Rod Beckstrom, former CEO of ICANN.

Lucius – you might have possibly missed the eloquent one he penned in Reykjavik

    O’ Iceland

    BRRRRR!

    It’s so fucking freezing

    The Vikings are sneezing

    And we’re all wheezing

    While we’re breezing

    ‘Bout fleecing

    An’ cheating

    Our

    Per diems

    BRRRR!
