Curse Network acquired Gamepedia.com

The domain name Gamepedia.com has been sold to San Francisco based Curse, Inc.
It is obvious that they plan to create a large “wiki” style repository with information on every game known to man.
The Curse Network is comprised of leading gaming websites centered around the MMOG (Massively Multiplayer Online Games) genre.
According to the Curse.com web site:
“Curse is one of the largest gaming-information properties worldwide, attracting more than 19 million unique visitors a month. Consisting of over 60 of the most sought after video-game-websites on the planet, Curse enhances the core-gaming experience with user interface add-ons, guild hosting, databases, wikis and breaking news. In addition, the Curse Client, an add-on management desktop application used to find, install and update user interface plug-ins, has 2.2 million active users. With a focus on online gaming, Curse sites complement games ranging from MMO’s kingpin, World of Warcraft, to the strategy behemoth, Starcraft 2 and the genre defining shooter, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Thus, the sale of Gamepedia.com is expected to have been in the mid $xx,xxx range – if not higher.
Canadian developer and investor, Bill Karamouzis, operated and sold an online gaming network that generated immense profits, which led to sizable acquisitions of domain names.
Update, 11/20/2012: Apparently, the sale was just short of $20,000 (15,000 euro). Looks like a great deal for the buyers, Curse Inc.
Actually this sounds like a good deal indeed. The domain has huge potential for the goals they strive, really curious where this will go from here. Offering wiki based information on huge video games can drive a lot of traffic in my opinion.
Interesting… though there already is a video game wikipedia called Orcz.com, will it compete with them? And what about Wikia?
