Kids fight: Tempers rise as Mann and Berkens exchange niceties

Popular domain investors, Mike Mann and Mike Berkens had an exchange reeking of “keyboard” bravado earlier today.

Apparently, the exchange of comments started when Mike Mann – of recent Google banning fame – posted the following:

“Ive been trying to get Berkens to help me with some charity things (mainly just Grassroots.org banner) but he is acting like a little girl.”

Mike is known for his often provocative one-liners on Facebook; in person, he is quite the nicest man.

Mike Berkens bit the “bait” and responded thus:

“Mike I’ve been trying to get you to join the ICA now that they saved you $2 Million in renewal fees over the next 6 years and contribute to an organization that the BIG boys have been giving money to for years, asking me to do something for you personally for you to contribute money to a charity is not charitable.”

Also, Mike Berkens is one of the nicest people in the domain industry, and just like Mike Mann, he sleeps very few hours every day. Maybe, that’s the problem here – lack of sleep? ๐Ÿ˜€

Let’s get along, guys!!!

Maybe Mike Mann can stop spamming domainers, I have an email with 3 different names on it, trying to sell the same damn domain, all within 15 minutes.

A comment like Mann’s makes him look like a child to the grown ups, who don’t do business that way.

  3. Francois says:

I found funny the reaction of Mike Mann to base his participation in the InternetCommerce.org association if Michael Berkens place his Grassroots.org badge on his site when 3 years ago he exactly told me: “Grassroots.org is a charity and is not a party to any of my business deals.”

    My personnal conclusion is simply:
If one want to receive he must also know to give.

Guys – I believe it’s just a matter of facebook ego-clashing, they can resolve this offline. Both Mike Mann and Mike Berkens are top tier domainers and persons.
