Lease your domains and make money.
Domain investor Adam Dicker, owner of DNForum, has allocated a new section of the popular domain forum to domain leasing.
With Rick Schwartz’s online venture for leased domains taking off at JointVentures.com, Dicker’s decision was expected.
“If you have domains you want to lease, please feel free to add them here with ballpark or exact pricing,” said Dicker in a statement.
Several domains were added at the “Domais for Lease” forum, accessible to members at http://www.dnforum.com/f674/
A DNForum member already listing domains there, is Nokta Domains, that recently opened its own portfolio to leasing, at prices starting at $15 per month. Don’t expect high quality at that price, however! 😉
If you do decide to lease any of your domains, keep in mind that you may need to discuss the matter with an experienced IP attorney, as the implications of leasing domains aren’t quite clear.
You will need a bulletproof domain lease contract, that defines a clear path of action in the event of something unexpected occurring during the time of the lease – such as, a UDRP.

Gman is on the money, was going to say the same thing, no domainer would ever pay to rent a domain on a monthly basis… Anyone with a category killer generic would not be looking to the dnforum crowd to do so… dnforum has been going downhill for a while now…
I don’t think the forum is unnecessary, if anything else it will help alleviate space from the main ‘for sale’ forums, as a domain can only listed in one category. So those that want to lease their domains, can do so.
You can also use an escrow service like eCOP.com to securize the leasing transaction.
Although, as a domainer, I would prefer to own a domain I’m building out rather than lease it, I can imagine myself leasing a domain if I want it badly enough and the purchase price is out of reach — or if I’d just prefer to test out a business model at lower cost before exercising a subsequent right to purchase once the concept has proven successful.
After all, I sometimes rent an apartment. I sometimes rent a car. I sometimes rent a movie. Buying is always cheaper. But renting / leasing can make sense with domains, as with anything else.
And it certainly harms nobody to create a new subforum at DNForum for those who want to try out leasing or talk about options.

Joseph – Agreed, at the end of the day it’s a matter of financials: you might be able to afford to lease a domain you *must* have now, and save up to buy it later. It’s a risky move, regardless.
