With the news about the ‘silly’ sale of 114.com for a massive $2.1 million dollars dominating the domain market, it comes as no surprise that everyone wants top dollar for their generic domains.
Still, certain sales are best conducted privately, instead of hitting various venues without a concrete plan in place. One of these auctions just ended on Flippa, the top market place for domains and web sites.
Regardless of value and worldwide recognition as a popular food keyword, Pasta.com failed to reach the reserve, after 39 bidders maxed out on a bill of Italian specialty costing $200,000.
Maybe someone from Italy’s Pierluigi famiglia needs to make the seller an offa. 😀
The owner is now aiming to hold and develop, then attempt to sell “for millions of dollars.” Isn’t that supposed to be the process before putting a killer generic up for sale?
