ICANN is dropping a ‘bomb’ on the current WHOIS system.
The race is on for ICANN to receive initial support from authoritative domainers and companies, and proceed with a massive overhaul of the WHOIS system.
While the voice of reason still echoes in the discussion forum that ICANN has allocated, new information has come to light about the details of the WHOIS overhaul.
“We would like to see a genetic matching of domains to domainers, or to corporate representatives via the storage of DNA samples,” said DarkMonitor executive, Boris Yusuf. “Once you register a domain, your saliva, blood or urine would have to be collected and stored for future genetic matching.”
“At DarkMonitor we are thrilled by the great research and work performed so far by ICANN and we feel that the organization is heading to the right direction, given its $200,000,000 budget for 2014,” added Yusuf.
Meanwhile, ICANN officials close to President Obama’s administration have revealed a plan to restructure Syria’s Internet and overhaul its connectivity to the world, once the upcoming relentless bombing of strategic cities ceases.
Domainers that are concerned about the future of domaining and are protective of their domain portfolios, should take a minute today to comment on ICANN’s plans.
