With RookMedia acquiring DomainSponsor from Oversee on Friday, the game of “domain thrones” is getting warmer.

After much deliberation, we came up with a list of 10 unlikely domain mergers, producing hybrid brands for the resulting joint ventures.

  • Catchy Uniregistry – Headquartered in Paris, France and the Caymans, this joint effort of Francois Carrillo and Frank Schilling will deliver catchy domains for Uniregistry gTLDs. A win win! Unlikely factor: 75%
  • DNForum Pros – A long lasting feud between these two domain forums can be settled by a merger. Adam Dicker is known for thinking outside the proverbial box. Unlikely factor: 45%
  • Rick & Elliot’s Domain Investing – Clearly two of the top domain bloggers of all time, Elliot Silver and Rick Schwartz will have a blast delivering insight about real world domain sales. Unlikely factor: 65%
