Tesla Motors, the makers of the electric power car, has come to an agreement with Chinese businessman Zhan Baosheng.
The Chinese entrepreneur registered the Tesla name as a business in China, and operated the web sites Tesla.cn and Teslamotors.cn.
Tesla Motors is seeking immediate expansion in China, and that agreement – the terms of which were not disclosed – involves the Chinese trademarks and domain names.
Tesla Motors does not own, however, the domain name Tesla.com which was registered in November 1992 according to DomainTools.
Due to its age and direct link to the name of Serbian American inventor, Nikola Tesla, the domain name Tesla.com is most likely one of the most expensive domains ever.
