Spanish consumers registered more dot .ES domains – the local ccTLD for Spain – than any other TLD in 2014.
According to a report by Internet development agency, Red.es, there was an increase of 3.46% in dot .ES registrations, accounting for over half of all domain names registered in Spain.
The total number of .ES domain name registrations in 2014 reached 1,755,224, as compared to the 1,696,538 registered in 2013.
Dot .ES domain popularity was unable to offset the fall in the number of .com, .net, .eu, .org and .cat domains registered last year. The result was a 2.13% year to year drop, for a total of 3,400,249 domains at the end of 2014.
Meanwhile, Domaining Europe 2015, the European domain conference that takes place in Valencia, Spain, announced the addition of several new speakers: Adam Dicker and Braden Pollock, attorneys Paul Reynor Keating and Jorge Campanillas, along with business angel investor, Carlos Blanco.
Domaining Europe takes place between April 23rd and 25th, 2015.
