Breaking the mold of domain investing, a little known domainer has decided to actually develop his LLLL .com domain, instead of flipping it for a few bucks in revenue.
Kilroy Franco of Chicago, Illinois, grew up being different; this time around, he’s resisting the urge to stash more LLLL .com’s for future resale, he wants to develop actual web sites.
“I read the hype every day in domain blogs about how I should be selling my XYZQ .com’s because some Chinese guy wants them, but I don’t really need $100, what I need is the satisfaction I am offering content on the Interwebs,” says Kilroy Franco.
The son of a Lutheran minister, Franco was taught the importance of giving to the community versus demanding profits from his seed. Unlike most domain investors that appear willing to sell out to the Chinese for a few instant bucks, Franco follows the lessons his minister father taught him.

“My Father told me that if I can create something that would last, that’s the way to go, not for boasting that I profited out of my investment, and that’s what I will do with my domain,” adds Franco, smiling peacefully.
With a flood of LLLL .com domains challenging even the most dyslexic Americans, domain development is a sure way to establish a brand that will be remembered, as opposed to make a sale that will hand the domain to China’s emerging Communist class.

i remember hearing stories like this in the past. i believe it was around 2003 or so i heard the first one.
domainers are gonna start developing sites. didn’t happen then… not gonna happen now. all work and no play makes jack a dull boy.
RaTHeaD – I believe a lot of ‘developed’ web sites claimed by domainers are nothing but chunks of unoptimized copy with Google Ads. It’s a shame really, let’s hope Kilroy will make a killing.
