A few months ago we covered the pending UDRP filed against the owners of the domain, Halifax.com.
The Bank of Scotland Plc. filed the UDRP in December, and the decision was disclosed today.
According to the latest update as published on the WIPO web site, the domain Halifax.com along with HalifaxCarFinance.com and HalifaxLiving.org were ordered to be transferred to the Complainant.
There is no document that has been released yet, about this UDRP decision which was made two weeks ago.
Definitely a shocking decision, that starkly clashes that of a recent case against another geo-domain, Milano.com.
That case, ended with a finding of Reverse Domain Name Hijacking.
Update: The full UDRP text on the Halifax.com case can be viewed here.
Well, my guess was right 🙂
Not a shocking decision IMHO, Milano.com and Halifax.com are very different cases, and, as far as I can see, some of Bank of Scotland TMs predate the registration date.
