Today is President’s Day in the US, and Donald Trump’s first; it’s a federal holiday so schools, banks and financial institutions are closed.
In the domain community, Escrow.com won’t be processing payments today, although its domain escrow services operate normally.
Domains cannot incorporate apostrophes, so if the domain PresidentsDay.com looks odd, so be it.
Registered in 1999, the domain is currently parked, hardly a surprise. Its registrant owns several other “day” domains, including the following:
boxing-day.com
boxingday.org
columbus-day.com
columbusday.org
fathers-day.com
laborday.org
memorial-day.com
mothersday.org
taxfreeday.com
veterans-day.com
Meanwhile, #NotMyPresidentsDay is getting traction on social media; another fun hashtag about Donald Trump has been #TrumpOlympics last summer.
For those who dislike Donald Trump, NotMyPresidentsDay.com has been registered since November last year – it’s “coming soon” but don’t hold your breath that’ll happen in a timely fashion; most such domains are registrations “du jour” that attempt to capitalize on the popularity of viral terms.
You would think the RNC or a Trump friendly PAC would make a reasonable offer as a prophylactic measure.
