#Domainer surnames : Slabaugh.com sold for four figures, so what about Schwartz.com ?

Owning your last name as a .com can be a great advantage to a professional; by owning your personal brand, you are also the “patriarch” or “matriarch” of the rest of your extended family: you can issue subdomains! 😀

Long term domain investor and popular forum moderator, Joseph Slabaugh, shared with us some great news.

Joseph has just acquired the domain Slabaugh.com, via Sedo. The domain acquisition cost him four figures USD, presumably paid to the previous owner, some enterprising chap from Malaysia who owned the domain since at least 2004. The domain was registered in 2001.

Meanwhile, Rick Schwartz does not own the domain name Schwartz.com, a keyword that means “black” in German. There are so many people with the name “Schwartz” in the US and worldwide; even several by the name Rick Schwartz!

So who owns Schwartz.com?

According to our research, this 1994 domain was in the possession of media company GS Schwartz & Co. that was acquired in 2012 by Middleberg Communications. The domain has not been used since.

Will the Domain King buy it?
